ISO/TC 145图形符号技术委员会主席Barry Gray日前致函中国标准化研究院基础标准化研究所，就四川汶川地震向中国人民和标准业同行表示深切慰问，对地震造成的重大人员伤亡深感痛惜。函中还表示，ISO/TC 145所有同事密切关注着受灾群众的生活和援救、重建工作的进展。他相信中国一定能度过这次难关。

Dear Dianyi Bai,

On behalf of all of your colleagues in TC 145 may I express our sadness at the terrible loss of life and injuries suffered by so many of your countrymen and women as a result of the disastrous earthquake in Sichuan and its neighbouring provinces. The pictures of the casualties, including all those children, have been heartrending. Our thoughts are with all those who have suffered and with those carrying out the difficult task of rescuing survivors and rebuilding the devastated areas.
